Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin once again caught in the use of illegal drugs.
Povetkin today in Yekaterinburg in the battle for the title of “interim” champion by the WBC was supposed to meet with the ex-world champion Berman Stiverne, however, a few hours before the fight the World anti-doping Agency has notified WBC that Povetkin passed a positive doping test for ostarine, which in its properties is analogous to anabolic steroids.
The world Boxing Council quickly responded to another problem with Povetkin doping the WBC has removed the “interim” title with drawing in Alexander’s fight with Stiverne, and the team of canadian boxer refused to fight.
“I’m disappointed. This is the peak of incompetence. Now the battle will not be exact. I’m flying home, but my career continues. I think I’ll become the official Challenger to fight DevTeam Wilder”, – quotes Stiverne “BoxingScene”.
Team Povetkin has ordered an autopsy sample “B”. If this test is positive, but the former opponent of Wladimir Klitschko threatens indefinite disqualification.
Alexander Povetkin due to problems with doping disrupted the second fight for the year. In may the Russians in Moscow were supposed to meet with WBC champion DevTeam Wilder, however, was convicted of use of Meldonium.
