Poroshenko promised to increase the quotas for Ukrainian language television.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promised to soon offer an increase in Ukrainian-language content on TV.
“Step by step, the share of Ukrainian language rises on the radio. Soon will offer a mechanism for television,” – said the head at the ceremony of awarding the National prize. Taras Shevchenko, press Secretary Svyatoslav Tsegolko on Twitter.
Poroshenko recalled that earlier the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law increasing the presence of the Ukrainian language in the radio and added that the results of the adoption of this law are already being felt.
“Soon the same technology [such increase in the quotas of the Ukrainian language on radio] I will offer in relation to television, where the presence of the Ukrainian language is now very small”, – quotes the President Interfax-Ukraine.
According to the head of state, he awaits the approval of Parliament.
