The next “Ukrainian” week in Brussels, the President will continue working with EU leaders and the Euro-Atlantic community.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomed the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend economic sanctions against Russia, and voiced clear demands of the Ukrainian side to the aggressor country.
The head of state wrote in his Facebook.
“I welcome the unanimous endorsement of the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend until 31 January 2019 economic and sectoral sanctions against Russia for gross aggression against Ukraine”, – wrote Poroshenko.
The President noted that the value of solidarity by the EU of Ukrainian independence and territorial integrity.
Our demands are clear – full implementation of the Minsk agreements, the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Donbass, the entry of UN peacekeepers, the restoration of control over the state border, the release of detained Ukrainian political prisoners and hostages and the return of the Crimea, – said the head of state.
Also Poroshenko added that the next “Ukrainian” week in Brussels will continue to work with EU leaders and the Euro-Atlantic community to develop strategies to counter Russian aggression.
