The President reminded that Ukrainians are holding back the most powerful army on the continent.
In 2018 to the needs of national security and defense of Ukraine will be sent to 163 billion hryvnia (about 6.3 billion dollars), 20 billion UAH exceeds the figures of the current year.
This was stated by the President Petro Poroshenko during a meeting of the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC).
“If you compare the state budget expenditures on defense in 2017 and 2013 in UAH is increasing dramatically. But if you take the dollar equivalent – they are almost the same,” he said.
According to Poroshenko, the Ukrainian army was able to keep Russian troops.
“We are able to keep the Russian aggressor, who has the most powerful army on the continent. Which number is five times larger than ours, and the military budget which in some years exceeded the 16 times,” – said the head of state.
