Poroshenko started the process of creating an anti-corruption court

The President approved the launch of a new trial.

President Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday, June 26, signed the law on establishing the Higher anti-corruption court.

His signature to the document which triggers the creation of a new court, the President gave during the meeting with graduates of the Institute of international relations of Kyiv national University named after Taras Shevchenko.

“In fact, except the final clauses, the law consists of two articles. Article 1 – form a Higher anti-corruption court. Article 2 – location, territorial jurisdiction, and status is determined by the law on Higher anti-corruption court,” he said to the applause of the students.

The court will work in Kiev. The Cabinet of Ministers should provide funding necessary for the establishment of the court activities.

We will remind, from 14 June in Ukraine began to operate the law “On Higher anti-corruption court.” But this document does not create the court itself, it only defines the features of the specialized election judges and the formation of the court. For the actual creation of the anti-corruption court, the President had to submit, and the Verkhovna Rada to pass another bill “On Higher education of the anti-corruption court.”
