The President said that the economic situation in the country improved.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said about the improvement of the economic situation in Ukraine at the General debate of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
He said that a year and a half ago, the country could “only dream of macroeconomic stabilization”, but now the situation is much improved, noting that Ukraine fully implementeret the agenda of sustainable development by 2030. Ukraine, in his opinion, there are several key priorities of the agenda of the UN development 2030, i.e. securing stable energy supplies, ensuring food security, promotion of innovation and stable infrastructure, as well as the introduction of an efficient health system, affordable education and decent work.
“Now we have all grounds to say about the economic recovery,” he said.
“Despite the serious costs of defense, which reach more than 5% of GDP, Ukraine continues to implement fundamental transformation – to fight corruption, conduct judicial and law enforcement reforms, to introduce decentralization, improve business opportunities,” – said the President.
Poroshenko also added to achieve the sustainable development goals should promote peace and security, however, achieve not any one country.
