Poroshenko made a statement on early elections

The President believes that the election of the President and the Parliament should happen in a constitutional deadlines.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that parliamentary and presidential elections should be held according to their turn. He said this during a speech in Parliament with the message to deputies.

“It is obvious that introduction of cardinal changes into the Constitution almost in the electoral cycle is unlikely to be welcomed by the society. And the approach of planned votes for the President and the Parliament makes it even more irrational idea of early elections”, – said Poroshenko.

In his opinion, the elections should take place in a constitutional time-frame to ensure a free, transparent, competitive and fair electoral campaign.

“And I set it so, it is necessary to prepare already today”, – said Poroshenko.
