President Petro Poroshenko believes that, receiving a visa-free regime, Ukraine is finally moving away from Russia and returned home to Europe.
“I would say that today Ukraine finalized your divorce with the Russian Empire and so philosophically we perceive it to be”, – he told in interview to TV channel 1+1 on Thursday evening.
According to Poroshenko, now there will be three freedoms – freedom of movement of goods, capital and people.
“It is not only and not so much on visa-free border crossing, we are talking about the return of Ukraine to a historical place in the European countries,” the President said.
He noted that there were obstacles within the country and even some optimists had publicly appealed to the leadership of the European Commission and the European Union with an appeal not to give Ukraine bezviz.
Also, according to Poroshenko, was and external constraints, in particular, attempts to mobilize anti-European forces within the EU to give Ukraine visa-free regime.
