The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a Decree on the appointment of 114 judges of the new Supreme court of Ukraine.
The decree read at the ceremony of taking the oath of judges of Supreme Deputy head of the presidential Administration Oleksiy Filatov.
“One in four new Supreme court judge, a lawyer or a scientist. They will have the chance to build a new justice system, guided by the Ukrainian laws and the European standards and values,” the statement said Poroshenko.
The President added that the next passage of a number of laws on changes in the justice system: the law on the corruption court, on the legal profession and about legal education and the like.
Earlier, Poroshenko said that Ukraine was never an independent court.
