Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with Erdogan

Congratulated the Ukrainian leader of the Turkish success in the referendum, not reported.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In a statement on the website of the Ukrainian President noted that Poroshenko “noted the completion of Turkey’s political campaign for amendments to the Constitution of this country.”

He also thanked Turkey for its unwavering support for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and expressed condolences in connection with the helicopter crash in the East of Turkey.

The leaders discussed further steps to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. In this context, they noted the importance of carrying out in Kiev of the Sixth meeting of the Strategic Council of high level between Ukraine and Turkey.

The parties also touched upon topical issues of regional and international agenda, in particular the development of the situation in Syria.
