President Petro Poroshenko has signed decrees on the elimination of local and the creation of district courts in Ukraine in the framework of the second phase of judicial reform.

It is reported that it concerns both of local courts and courts of appeal.
“Signed decrees on the elimination and creation of local courts in Ukraine and urged legal scholars and lawyers to take an active part in competitions for positions of judges”, – stated in the message.
Poroshenko stressed that together with the signed decrees he will initiate legislation to ensure continuity of judicial review in the case of judge to the new court.
“Today is the second phase, which aims two very clear position: we need to bring the courts and justice to the people. We could not be more districts with no courts and courts without judges,” – said Poroshenko.
