Poroshenko has asked Ukrainians not to rush to bezveza

The President commented on the vote in the European Parliament on bezveze for Ukraine.

A positive vote in the European Parliament does not mean that the borders with the EU for Ukrainians already open. But the problem in this way, most likely, will not be, said the President Petro Poroshenko during a briefing with reporters.

“I want to note that this is not the opening of borders. We are waiting for the decision of the Council of the European Union, working hard, so no one would delay it because you see the enemies are not asleep, and we heard yesterday from representatives of the Pro-Putin, who tried to encourage, as well as our internal fifth column, those same arguments not to give bezviz or delay it,” – said Poroshenko.

On a question of journalists, will not affect the granting of visa-free regime, elections in France at the end of April, Poroshenko said: “I think not. Because we have a strong political position.”

The head of state added that work is underway on the acceleration of procedures for issuing biometric passports.

“I have a biometric passport. And that was when we started issuing biometric passports. Now we are making maximum efforts in order to speed up the procedure of issuing biometric passports,” – he concluded.
