The head of state signed the law that abolishes the mandatory use of seals on documents.
President Petro Poroshenko signed a bill N4194 providing for the abolition of the mandatory use of seals on documents. This is the website of the Parliament.
The bill proposed to exclude from the legislation the requirement of the use of seals, regardless of the availability of business entities, as well as the possibility of recognizing the document as invalid in the absence of the seal.
Eliminating the need for the use of seals in the relationship of business entities with state authorities and bodies of local self-government and to establish administrative responsibility for extortion of a public authority or local government the presence of the seal on the official document.
According to the law, a business entity has the right to use in its activities, but its use is not mandatory. The presence or absence of the company’s seal on the document does not create legal consequences.
A copy of the document filed by a business entity to a public authority or local government is considered certified if such copies bear the signature of the authorized person of the entity or the personal signature of the natural person – entrepreneur. A public authority or local government may not require notarization of the authenticity of the copy of the document if this requirement is not stipulated by law.
The law also stipulates that the manufacture, sale or purchase of seals is carried out without obtaining any permits.
