Poroshenko gave the green light to billion loan from the EU

President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law allowing Ukraine to receive macrofinancial assistance from the European Union €1 billion About it reports a press-service of the head of state.

Prerequisite for each of the two tranches of the EU macro-financial assistance worth up to €500 million each is to implement a number of agreed measures for implementation of tax and customs policy, the fight against corruption, privatization and further reforms in the areas of energy, health and social protection, reminds the press service.

The Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement with the EU at €1 billion 8 Nov.

On 14 September, Ukraine and the European Union signed a Memorandum of understanding and a loan agreement concerning the provision of the program of the fourth EU macro-financial assistance to Ukraine (MFA IV) by €1 billion.

Poroshenko announced the receipt of the first tranche in the coming weeks.
