Poroshenko expressed support for the integrity of Moldova

During a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the Moldovan partners for the firm stance in supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, reported the press service of the head of state.

“I want to remind that Moldova strongly supported our independence and in March 2014, when he voted for the Resolution of the UN General Assembly in December 2016, when not simply supported the Resolution on the situation of human rights in the occupied Crimea, but also co-sponsored the resolution”, – said the Ukrainian President.

Poroshenko also recalled that a quarter century ago, Moldova was faced with similar challenges, losing part of its sovereign territory.

“Today we see persistent attempts to impose on Moldova and Ukraine the following formats reintegration, which will allow the outside to decide the fate of our peoples. These attempts are doomed to failure. Ukraine and Moldova will be restored to its sovereign, internationally recognized borders. Crimea as well as Donbass is Ukraine. All the democratic world community shares and supports this position. And those who do not agree – be on the other side of the civilizational dimension”, – said the President of Ukraine.

The head of the Moldovan government expressed their support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and once again voiced clear Moldova’s position on the Crimea.

“The Republic of Moldova recognizes and respects the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine”, – said Philip.
