Saakashvili said that he would fight for Ukrainian citizenship.

The state migration service has provided compelling evidence of the submission of false information when making Mikheil Saakashvili applications for receiving Ukrainian citizenship.

About it reported in a press-service of presidential Administration.

“The Commission on citizenship issues under the President of Ukraine decided to support a petition for termination of citizenship of Ukraine, Mikheil Saakashvili, and encouraged the President to take a decision”, – explained in Department.

The press service also said that the head of state signed the corresponding decree on the basis of these recommendations.

“In accordance with the legislation on protection of personal data this regulation is not to be published because it contains confidential information, particularly personal data”, – summed up in the AP.

We will remind, on July 26 it became known that the former Governor of Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili was deprived of the citizenship of Ukraine.

Later at the State migration service informed that the corresponding decree is already signed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

As noted in the Department, it was made “on the basis of false data stated in the questionnaire”.

In particular, in the documents that Saakashvili filled out before the receipt of the Ukrainian citizenship, he indicated that he is not under investigation in Ukraine or abroad, at that time, on the territory of Georgia, the former President was arrested in absentia.
