Poroshenko explained why this Independence Day was special.
President Petro Poroshenko said that the 26 anniversary of Ukraine’s independence is special for the country and citizens.
The corresponding statement the President made during a speech on the Maidan on the occasion of Independence Day.
According to the President, this year has been generous on a few of the positive developments that will leave a mark in history and will affect the future of Ukraine.
“We have successfully completed the ratification of the Association agreement with the European Union to block this process Moscow has put more effort than the time to failure of signing of the contract,” – said Poroshenko.
However, according to the head of state, while “the dogs bark, the caravan moves on”
“Exactly one week before the agreement enters into force and becomes for us a road map of reforms. And expensive we have one – the broader Euro-Atlantic highway, which leads to membership in the European Union and NATO,” – said Poroshenko.
The President stressed that the 26 year of independence, the Ukrainians received a well-deserved visa-free regime with Europe and demonstrated the final break with the “evil Empire”.
