Earlier the President declared that the bill on anti-corruption court will be adopted in may, and now says June.
President Petro Poroshenko said that in June the Verkhovna Rada should vote for the law on the anti-corruption court. He said this during the meeting of the National investment Council on Friday, may 25.
Previously Poroshenko said that the anti-corruption court to be established in may.
“We decided to create an anti-corruption court. Year the process was blocked. And only at the end of December was was the President’s bill…2 thousand amendments filed to this bill, of which 1200 amendments were rejected. The second reading continues. I hope that next week BP will have the opportunity to take this bill as a whole. MPs slow the process, but that new political institutions to be,” he said.
He noted that the final version of the law will be coordinated with international partners.
“In June, Ukraine must vote, and I have to sign this important bill,” – said Poroshenko.
At the same time the Parliament can vote for the bill on the anti-corruption court next week Tuesday.
“Yesterday we stopped at 1278 edit – in 1925 amendments. So we see that the resultant vote we can leave on Tuesday sometime after lunch, the next plenary week”, – said in the Parliament the people’s Deputy Sergey Alekseev.
He added that the Parliament will have a week to reach all the arrangements regarding the law on the anti-corruption court.
We will note, according to media reports, on the evening of 22 may, the negotiations between speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy with representatives of the International monetary Fund and Venice Commission on the draft law on anti-corruption court were unsuccessful.
