The reason for the anger was the proposal to reduce the number of non-working days.
On the website of the President of Ukraine has placed the scandalous petition with the requirement about liquidation of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory.
Its author, Maxim Balacco – calls the Institute an institution which is engaged in ideological maintenance of the current political elites. The reason for the liquidation of the Institute is its proposal to reduce the number of working days in a year, which is loudly regarded as anti-people initiative.
“The draft law “On public holidays in Ukraine”, developed by the Institute of naramata deprived status of the state holiday Day labour Day (celebrated on the state level in countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, etc.) and the international day of struggle for women’s rights” – recalls the author of the petition.
In his opinion, these proposals seem quite ironically, if we remember that women make up half the population of Ukraine, and workers – and at his most.
The signatories of the petition, which to date has accumulated 59, need to close the Institute, and allocated for its maintenance funds reallocated to social needs.
