The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the decree about appointment as the permanent representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Ukrainian international lawyer Boris Babin.
This is stated on the website of the presidential administration on August 17.
As reported in the press service, Poroshenko met with the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and head of Mejlis Refat Chubarov, then instructed carefully to perform the activities of the permanent representative of the President in Crimea.
“Unfortunately, the facts that gave me public activists, representatives of the Mejlis, in a great measure been confirmed. This gave grounds to decide on required personnel actions,” – said Poroshenko.
The President of Ukraine stressed that Boris Babin has extensive experience and professional legal profession, in particular under international law. According to Poroshenko, he showed his best side during operation with the Ministry of justice in the human rights field, including in cooperation with the European court of human rights and in the protection of the rights of migrants.
As informed in the presidential administration, Poroshenko also signed a decree on appointment of SC Ghdanova to the post of first Deputy permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea.
