During the visit of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Washington was not reached specific agreements the American side weapons to Kiev.
The head of state said in an interview to Ukrainian TV channels.
“Regarding the defence agreements we actually have an agreed-upon text. I can say that in the near future, within two to three months we expect the visit of the Minister of defense in Ukraine, and during this visit we hope that agreements will be signed,” – said Poroshenko.
According to him, is now actively promoted and the process of granting Ukraine defensive weapons, the agreement on military-technical cooperation, cooperation in research and development and many other areas.
“It is absolutely clear and specific agreements, unprecedented, which Ukraine has never had in our relations with the USA”, – assured Poroshenko.
He also expressed hope that the issue of supply Washington defensive weapons to Kiev will be resolved until October, i.e. before the end of the current fiscal year in the United States.
According to the President, within two or three month to Ukraine there will arrive the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis, and during this visit can be signed a “defence agreement”.
