The EU blamed largely it is the populism of Ukrainian authorities.
Today one of the main problems in Ukrainian politics is populism.
“…Populism (and the same can be said about the West) often use very rich people, without any ideological orientation, which are purely economic or so-called “pragmatic” vision,” he said.
According to Freedom, if you look at political parties, for many years there was no separation between the right and left, conservatives and socialists. So, actually there is only the separation between different groups and different oligarchs with different business orientation
“We tried to see some kind of social-democratic orientation of the Party of regions, but it was impossible. I stopped working with them because there was no cooperation, they were not ready. I had a long discussion with Mr. Yanukovych (ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych — ed.), Mr. Azarov (former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov — ed.) and others, but there was no willingness to accept democratic principles, a certain ideology. It as such does not exist for them,” he said.
The expert added that it would be possible to say that they had the wrong ideology, but it was not at all.
“We have heard that we and our people want to become rich, want to get power and all. But it can’t be part of a viable political system”, — summed up the Freedom.
