The population of Carrick-on-Shannon – about 6 thousand people, most of the local employed in the tourism business. By the way, according to statistics, Ireland has a very low unemployment rate – only 7% of the population. But it is logical: the country is attractive for investment, particularly in the Dublin offices of such world-known giants as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Ebay and Paypal.
