Francis delivered the traditional Urbi et Orbi message.
Pope Francis in his traditional Urbi et Orbi message (“Urbi et Orbi”) in day of Easter today, April 16, blessed Ukraine.
“Let the Good Shepherd will help Ukraine, still oppressed by a bloody conflict, gain agreement and supports initiatives aimed at alleviating the grief of those who suffer from its consequences”, – quotes the Pontiff Vatican Radio.
The Pope wished peace for the entire Middle East, in particular the “relief and joy” to the people of Syria, and also remembered the people of South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, suffering from protracted conflicts, pointed to the extreme drought that affects parts of Africa.
In addition, he wished to dispute resolution in Latin America.
“Dear brothers and sisters, this year we as Christians of all confessions celebrate Easter. Thus from every corner of the globe unanimously sounds the most wonderful news is: “the Lord is risen indeed, just as predicted!”. May He who defeated the darkness of sin and death, gives peace to our days,” said Pope Francis.
