Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has commissioned an additional examination of the metal mortar “Hammer”, which exploded on the ground in the Rivne region.
This reports the press service of the defense Ministry.
The Minister instructed to conduct a further examination on the basis of the research laboratory of the National technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky”. Currently, samples sent to the laboratory.
The findings of the examination will help to establish an objective reason for the explosion of the mortar.
Earlier, Deputy defense Minister Igor Pavlovsky said that the investigatory experiment has confirmed that the cause of the explosion of the mortar on the ground Sovetskom July 6 was the double charging of the weapon. At the same time, experts do not think this is the only possible cause.
