Poltorak encouraged reserve officers to return to military service.
Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said that in the area of ATO perform tasks of about 40 thousand soldiers, “they’re all volunteers.”
About this Poltorak said during the celebrations on the occasion of Day of Ukrainian volunteers.
“I want to thank those who took the first steps (in anti-terrorist operation – ed.). Many of you have been fighting way, lost health and still remained in the ranks. You work in the military, instructors in training centers, perform combat missions. Ask Ukrainians to protect these people,” – said the head of the defense Ministry.
He also urged the reserve officers who are already retired, to return for military service.
“I want to address to the reserve officers, officers who are retired, who served Ukraine, 20-25 years of age, received pensions, housing – so you took the example of the volunteers. Call of officers, which allows age and health, return to the APU,” – said the Minister.
According to him, on the line of collision is now “no officer or soldier, who would not accept their own decisions about what the main task is to protect the country.”
