Police in a gorilla suit six days crawling up to the finish of the London marathon. Video

The last meters he covered accompanied by his sons, dressed up monkeys.

An employee of the British police in a gorilla suit six days crawled on all fours to the finish line in the London marathon.

Tom Harrison signed up to participate in the event under the alias Mr. Gorilla. He started with the other athletes on April 23, but unlike them, the man fled, and was moving on four limbs like an APE. Harrison crossed the finish line today.

Thus the British decided to draw public attention to the problem of the extermination of the gorillas. The aim of the event was a fundraiser for a charity the Gorilla Organization. Thanks to the efforts of Harrison, the animal rights activists managed to obtain more than 23 thousand pounds (about 1.7 million).

“The first couple of days passers-by at me weird glances and parted in different directions. But on the third day the information has spread so much that I began to honk from the cars to clap and shout words of support,” said Harrison.

According to him, during the marathon he had to crawl over 10-12 hours a day, breaking the more than 7 kilometers per day. Harrison spent the night with friends who live near the route of the race.
