Poland wants to introduce sanctions against Russia.
Poland’s solidarity with Britain may expel Russian diplomats. This publication reports Gazeta Prawna, citing government sources.
According to media reports, Poland considers the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia in connection with the case of ex-spy Sergei Skripal. In addition to the expulsion of diplomats, Poland may impose other sanctions against Russian economic activities and the environment of Vladimir Putin.
Discussion of sanctions is continued from last week, but the decision was postponed pending the results of the elections in Russia.
The decision on sanctions will depend on today’s meeting of foreign Ministers in Brussels. From the point of view of the Polish government, the best scenario is the joint action against Russia at the EU level. However, Poland is ready to respond and independent of sanctions against Russia, said the media.
Earlier, foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin invited the Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain Boris Johnson to employ 23 expelled from the Federation of British diplomats in Kiev.
