Poland intends to complicate the employment of Ukrainians

Proposed by the Ministry of labour, family and social policy of Poland of amendments to the law “On employment promotion” provides a quota for seasonal employment of foreigners.

According to the draft law, the Ministry have the right to issue the order, which limit the number of work permits and seasonal work permits and declarations that can be issued this year in the territory of each province, says the expert.

“That is, the authors of the project suggest that in Poland will appear very exact knowledge about the needs of the local labour market, and Ministers are still able to predict changes in those needs during the year,” she notes.

Now, the draft amendments to the law provided for the issuance of 500 thousand permits for seasonal work and statements per year, while only in 2016, the statements themselves were issued 1.3 million.

According to Ksenia Naranovich, today employers are looking for unqualified personnel, often put twice as many applications than they later come to work.

The idea of a quota is odd, since in Poland the lowest unemployment rate in over 25 years.

The bill also provides for changes to the procedure for the issuance of declarations of intent to employ a foreigner – this system has been operating in Poland for over 10 years and applies in particular to the citizens of Ukraine.
