The novelty will receive a hybrid power plant with a capacity of about 300 horsepower.
Peugeot plans to release a sports version of the 3008 crossover. This was stated by the Director of product of the French company Laurent Blanche. According to him, the novelty will receive a hybrid powertrain with output of about 300 horsepower. Thus, the 3008 hybrid will be the most powerful crossover in the history of the French company. In mass production the new product will be sent no earlier than 2019.
According to Blanche, in the hybrid crossover will include the motor and forced 1.6-liter gasoline engine. From standstill to 100 km/h the new Peugeot 3008 will be dispersed less than for six seconds and maximum speed is 240 km per hour.
Peugeot 3008 hybrid, in spite of the most powerful system among all French crossovers, will not receive the prefix GTi in the name. “Hybrid is a sporty car, but the GTi badge is more suited to fast compact hatchbacks. Instead, we can use GT,” explained Blanche.
Peugeot 3008 this year became the winner of the annual contest “car of the year in Europe” (European Car of the Year 2017). The jury’s decision was made public in Geneva, in anticipation of the opening of the international motor show. In addition to the French car to win the contest claimed the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Citroen C3, Mercedes E-Class’, Nissan Micra, Toyota C-HR, and two Volvo model: S90 and V90.
The car was first shown in September 2016, at the motor show in Paris. Clearance Peugeot 3008 has grown to 230 mm, but all-wheel drive 3008-th not equipped in any trim. Instead, the manufacturer offers an electronic Grip Control system that changes the traction on the drive wheels in accordance with the selected mode of motion.
