Peugeot 208 new generation first seen on the tests

The car will be built on a new modular platform EMP1, which was developed jointly with the Chinese Dongfeng.

The company Peugeot has started road tests of the 208 hatchback new generation. Photospies the first time managed to photograph the car during the tests. The images were published by Motor1. The photos are only a test mule, where the engineers of the French company experience units of future models.

It is expected that the car will noticeably increase in size compared to its predecessor and will be higher. The car will be built on a new modular platform EMP1, which was developed jointly with the Chinese Dongfeng. Due to this, the hatchback needs to lose weight, which will affect fuel economy.

All other specifications of the Peugeot 208 are kept secret. Premiere of the car will take place next year. Will we see this model in the Russian market is still unknown. The current generation hatchback is not sold in Russia.

The Peugeot 3008 is built on a new modular platform EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) — total c Peugeot 308. At length he increased to 85 mm up to 4450 mm, the distance between the axes increased from 2613 to 2675 mm.
