Peter died a child with HIV, whose parents were unwilling to treat

They refused to treat the baby for religious reasons

In St. Petersburg, the baby died with HIV. His parents refused antiretroviruses therapy (ART) for religious reasons.

About it reported in a press-service of public organization AIDS.CENTER.

Local media wrote about the situation in this family in the last year. Then, HIV-positive child was on the account in the center of the fight against AIDS. The survey showed that viral load increased to critical values. However, parents insisted on the rejection therapy.

The child was hospitalized by court order on the basis of the law “About bases of health protection of citizens in Russian Federation”. The court ordered the parents to ensure the child’s antiretroviral therapy, which was prescribed by the doctors.

It is noted that the therapy was appointed against the will of the parents.

“After treatment in the hospital, the child came back to normal. He then returned to the family, where parents once again stopped giving him the pills,” — said in the organization AIDS.CENTER.

As previously reported, in Kolpino (Saint Petersburg) three-year-old shot himself in the eye from a traumatic gun.
