Peskov said the seizure of Crimea “the salvation of the whole people”

Peskov called the price for the annexation of Crimea feasible for Russia.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov called the reunification of the Crimea with Russia the salvation of the Crimean people, noting that the country copes with sanctions, although they have a negative impact on the economy.

“Those are the challenges, this is the price I guess that we all do have to pay for… It’s not a victory, you know, what happened with Crimea. It is here that the historical turn, it is rather, perhaps, the salvation of an entire people. The reunification of people with their country. And for this we pay the price,” — said Peskov in an interview with RBC, a fragment of which is published on Saturday.

Speaking of price, the press Secretary of the President noted that it was “very feasible” for Russia. Peskov also said that sanctions have a positive effect on the Russian economy.

“Bad is what is happening in economic terms. In General, it’s probably negative. But oddly enough, this has also a positive side. You know the positive side, in terms of the notorious import substitution. Which actually starts to work. In terms of breakthrough in agriculture. In terms of productivity. Far from sufficient, but the process went, we could not be moved during the fattening oil money,” — said Peskov.
