Pension to be earned, and not just to live up to 60 years – Reva

According to the Minister our pension system is unfair and unsustainable.

Today needs a pension system that will motivate people to retire later.

“The pension age is already rising. Therefore, the effect of which told the IMF, it is necessary to divide by two. For women from 2011 for another ten years the retirement age will rise. And if we went the way of “retirement age”, it was only about men,” said he.

“But if we raise the retirement age, beat on the part of society that pays dues, and works every day waiting for retirement. And come to them and say: are you going to retire now, but in three years. This demotivates people. And need a system that, on the contrary, motivates,” says the official.

“Our main goal is to increase the number of people paying pension contributions. Egalitarianism cannot do that. Start to pay when you realize that retirement you need to earn that it depends on the size of contribution and experience. A person should be put before the choice: you want to retire at age 60, you earn it. Not earned in 60 years on vacation should not go”, – said Reva.

We will remind, under the new Memorandum between Ukraine and the International monetary Fund, published on 4 April, the Verkhovna Rada should adopt a law on pension reform, and the reform should enter into force from the beginning of 2018.
