PayPal started to freeze the accounts of users of cryptocurrency

PayPal suddenly froze the accounts of some users.

Payment PayPal started to freeze user accounts associated with any activity relating to cryptocurrency.

The company previously had a negative attitude towards the cryptocurrency and everything connected with them.

In fact, the platform doesn’t protect buyers or sellers of cryptocurrency. In particular, for those who sell bitcoins, one of the main risks is that the buyer can always claim back his payment.

Now some users are reporting that their PayPal account is suddenly frozen, and their money is blocked for 180 days. Users who do not comply with the official rules, close your account without opportunity to appeal.

Rules PayPal provided that the company may close the user accounts or freeze assets when they deem it necessary. The decision not to appeal.

Moreover, people who actively sell any form of cryptocurrency via PayPal, are now considered “currency dealers or exchanges”.

These service providers must obtain special permission before you use PayPal for payments. Since none of the users did not try to obtain such a permit, their account is automatically locked.

Note that in Ukraine the status of cryptocurrencies at the moment is not settled law. Previously, a number of deputies have proposed to Parliament to legalize the circulation of bitcoin (bitcoin) and other cryptocurrency in Ukraine, registering a bills No. 7183 No. 7183-1.

However, the regulator – the national Commission on securities and stock market (NKTSBFR) refused to support these bills in the form in which they were filed. The Commission drew attention to the inadmissibility of the use of the term “cryptocurrency”, since in its essence this concept is the result of financial engineering, not “currency”. The securities Commission insists on the revision of the current wording of the bills.
