As soon as the relevant Committee will assess the two bills, they will be taken to a vote in Parliament.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy instructed the parliamentary Committee on justice to immediately consider two draft laws, which propose the abolition of immunity of deputies.
He said this at the conciliatory Council on Tuesday, October 17.
“I now urgently give instructions to the Committee on justice to consider these bills in Parliament on the lifting of immunity,” he said.
According to the speaker, we are talking about paper No. 6773, included 150 MPs, and No. 7203 of the authorship of the President of Petro Poroshenko.
He expressed the belief that once the Committee gives its assessment of these bills, they will be taken to the vote of Parliament.
Parubiy said that earlier in the Parliament was one of the bill No. 1776 on the abolition of immunity of MPs and judges. But, said the head of BP, after the Parliament amended the Constitution and thus “effectively” lifted the immunity of judges, the bill has lost its relevance and no more will be considered by Parliament.
