An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in the North-Eastern part of the island New Guinea (territory of Papua-New Guinea).
It is reported in the Altai-Sayan branch of the Geophysical service of the Unified Russian Academy of Sciences.
The epicenter is fixed at 11:07 Kyiv time of the earthquake had coordinates -5.15 degrees South latitude and 145.46 degree East longitude and was approximately 37 km from the settlement of Madang.
Intensity of concussions in epicentre of seismoisolation is assessed as “devastating”.
