The resolution is a demand for Russia: to free Oleg Sentsov, Roman Sushchenko, Nicholas Simon.
The parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution on “Attacks on journalists and media freedom in Europe”, prepared by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Vladimir Aryev.
This was stated by first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, member of the permanent delegation to PACE Irina Gerashchenko in Facebook.
“PACE adopted the resolution on “Attacks on journalists and media freedom in Europe”, prepared by our colleague Vladimir Aryev. In the resolution there is a clear requirement for Russia: to free Oleg Sentsov, Roman Sushchenko, Nicholas Simon,” – said Gerashchenko.
She also noted that the Ukrainian delegation was able to speak only Elena Centurion.
“It just raised the question of the global and common threats in the context of information of a hybrid war, drew attention to pseudojournalism propaganda channels, including Russia Today, which distort the picture of the world”, – wrote Gerashchenko.
We will note, last month the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Crimea.
And in the fall, PACE adopted two resolutions on Ukraine, in which Russian-Ukrainian conflict is called “Russian aggression” and called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the Donbass.
