Radioactive Ruthenium-106 found in the air over Ukraine. This dangerous element is used for the treatment of tumors and support satellites in space. According to the destructive action of the ruthenium is compared with the cesium, which has poisoned the world after Chernobyl.

The first alarm sounded in the EU – local monitoring stations last week found radioactive cloud of unknown origin. Later it was also recorded Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

“The impact on people and the environment was minimal. Its concentration in air was lower than permissible concentration, which is 500 miles becquerels per cubic meter”, – assured the press-Secretary of the State scientific and technical centre for nuclear safety Tatiana Verbitskaya.

Highest level of radioactive substances spectrometers showed in Zaporozhye – 40 miles-becquerels in nikolayevshchina and in baryshivka in Kyiv about 30, and is an order of magnitude below the dangerous threshold.
