At least 13 people were killed and 80 wounded during the clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces on the border.
According to the Pakistani side, the representatives of border police of Afghanistan opened fire on Pakistani soldiers who accompanied the team from the census.
“From April 30 Afghan border police obstructed the census in divided villages Killy Killy Lohman and Jahangir in the region of Chaman on the Pakistani side of the border,” according to Pakistani military.
A local doctor reported that the Pakistani side during the shelling killed 9 civilian, another 45 people, including 12 children, were wounded.
Afghan media, citing police chief, reported four dead and 14 injured police officers, and at least 23 injured civilian with his hand.
Both sides accuse each other at the beginning of the shooting, which occurred Friday morning on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
