ALROSA remained the only Russian airline which uses the aircraft “Tu” on scheduled passenger flights, according to “Vedomosti”.
It happened after the Red Wings airline ceased operation of five Tu-204 aircraft from its fleet. The last flights they made in October. Four of these aircraft is sent for repairs, after which they either return to the Red Wings or will be sold or leased, said the representative of “Ilyushin Finans” Andrey Lipovetsky.
In the fleet “ALROSA” is left Tu-134 and Tu-154. The first of these aircraft is scheduled to retire next may, the second one to use until the end of 2019, said the General Director of airline Andrey Gulov.
In addition to “ALROSA”, the aircraft “Tu” continue to use the airline “Aviastar-Tu” and “Space” (both spetsializiruyutsya on the delivery of goods), the company’s business aviation and Federal agencies.
Passenger aircraft “Tu” was one of the most popular in the USSR. As the Soviet passenger liners “Il” in Russia, they were gradually supplanted by Boeing and Airbus.
