Researchers have noticed signs of water on Mars look like the same as the drained lake on Earth. In particular, they found similarities between them and the lake in the territory of Washington, which was formed by the flood, and then dry. Similar geological structure to have and the areas along the Mississippi river, which for centuries were flooded when the flood as well as lakes with high salinity water in the Andes, is permanently stored in cold, dry weather.

The authors of the study do not exclude the possibility that the lakes might dwell some living organisms, if the water was warm enough.
