In Milan, the presentation of the Italian motorcycle Volt

This week in Milan took place the presentation of the new Italian electric motorcycle Volt. The creators sportbike Nicola Colombo and Valerio Fumagalli in 2013 set a Guinness world record, having made the longest run on an electric motorcycle.

They overcame 12,379 km route from Shanghai to Milan in 44 days. After that, they began to work on their own motorcycle.

The basis of the Italian Volt is an aluminum frame with a cluster of lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 15 kW. They power an electric motor that transmits a 94 horsepower or 70 kW at the rear wheel via belt drive, producing a maximum torque of 208 Nm.

Limited top speed of 180 kilometers per hour, and driving range on a single charge can reach 180 kilometers. The weight of the bike is quite impressive 250 pounds, and from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour, he accelerates in 4.6 seconds.

The buyer can choose an individual design of the motorcycle 12 shapes and many colors. All parts of the Italian Volt made by experienced manufacturers with good reputation. So, the bike got suspension from Öhlins and Brembo brakes. 17-inch wheels can be ordered from aluminum alloy or carbon fiber.

Also Italian Volt is equipped with touch TFT-display with GPS, which allows the driver to monitor speed, state of charge of the batteries and choose different performance profiles by changing parameters such as torque and engine braking. Another interesting feature of the motorcycle is the ability to fast-charging – batteries can be recharged to 80% in just 40 minutes, while normal charging is about 3 hours.

The final price of the motorcycle is, of course, depend on the chosen design, but on average it will be around 35,000 euros.
