Odessa was armed with a knife.
In the patrol police of Odessa is an official investigation on the fact of abuse of authority: a COP allegedly fired his personal armed with a knife man.
As the source said, in early June, the patrol received a call that a group of aggressive guys, rowdy on the street.
Having arrived into place, militiamen saw about seven drunken men throwing tires on the street. They tried to speak with rowdy, however, the source noted, had just started the conflict.
“One of the patrol took the spray, but he was either expired, or is defective, no effect. This only angered the crowd and they knocked the employee down on the floor, the second police officer rushed to call for help. When knocked down the COP went for his gun, the crowd tried to grab him and tore at his holster,” — said the source.
According to him, in a few minutes to a scene there arrived the patrol rapid response team. However, the brawlers ran into the house and closed in one of the apartments.
Then supposedly came the cry of a woman and a patrolman knocked the door.
“All laid on the floor. But one of them managed to grab the knife and began to threaten them. The patrol rapid response team pulled out his personal gun and fired. Nobody was going to risk the man could hurt them, and firearms patrol not have to apply,” said the source.
As told “Today” in a press-service of regional Prosecutor’s office, according to the statement of the citizen initiated criminal proceedings under part 3 St. 365 criminal code of Ukraine (abuse of power).
“Now, to verify information provided in the application regarding the possible use of police weapons and information about bodily injury. Also, the investigator assigned to conduct an internal investigation of the Department of internal security of police in Odessa region”, — said the press Secretary of the regional Prosecutor Inna Verba.
Press Secretary of the patrol police of Odessa Alla Marchenko confirmed the information that now being a service check.
According to Marchenko, all the details of the incident will be known after its completion.
