As the newspaper notes, Beijing has managed to destroy American intelligence network, which was created over many years. “This is one of the biggest setbacks for the US in the intelligence field for decades,” said officials.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the incident.

“Some were convinced that a secret agent in the CIA betrayed US. Others felt that the Chinese had penetrated to the secret system by which the United States supported the communication with foreign informants”, – emphasized in the material.
The CIA refused to comment on the information of journalists.

We will remind, in 2015, the Washington Post wrote that the CIA withdrew some employees of the American Embassy in Beijing as a precaution after a mass hacker attacks to steal personal data of Federal employees. Official representatives of the personnel administration of the American government admitted that hackers have stolen information on more than 25 million people, including former and current civil servants.

Officials have noted that we are talking about the largest incident of its kind in the country. US intelligence placed the responsibility for a cyber attack on a database of personnel management associated with the Beijing hackers. China denied the accusations.
