North Korea freed, sentenced to prison, American student

Since March last year, Otto Warmbier was in a coma.

North Korean authorities have freed an American student, Otto Warmbier, sentenced to 15 years hard labor on charges of theft of a propaganda poster from the hotel room.

On the release of Warmbir said Tuesday, June 13, U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson. Otto Warmbier has already departed from North Korea in the United States.

It radiotelescopio the Washington Post that since March last year their son is in a coma. Approval of the North Korean side, shortly after the verdict, the student was diagnosed with botulism. He fell into a coma with sleeping pills.

Otto Warmbier arrived in North Korea in December 2015 as part of a tour group. In January 2016, he was detained at the airport in Pyongyang while trying to take out a poster of political content. In court the student was convicted of “crime against the state.” Shortly before sentencing, was held a press-conference at which Warmbir, not hiding tears, asked forgiveness of the North Korean people, calling the attempt to steal the poster “the most terrible mistake in life.”

Imprisoned in North Korea are three of a US citizen. Washington and Pyongyang are negotiating for their release.
