Nokia smartphones will run on Android OS.
Nokia has already confirmed the return in 2017 of smartphones running Android under its own brand on the market.
Their manufacturer will be the Finnish company’s Global HMD in collaboration with Google. What OS will receive a new smartphone said Arto Numalla, a former top Manager of Nokia, who led the HMD.
He said that HMD is working closely with Google, including developing the operating system for smartphones, along with Google. According to some experts, this may mean using almost pure Android, without strong changes, as is done in shells like TouchWiz from Samsung or Sense from HTC.
“HMD is building its operating system smartphone in partnership with Google,” said Numalla.
Also the Manager confirmed commitment to the traditions of the Nokia brand, such as simplicity, ease of use, reliability and quality. “These are the elements that we will bring to the smartphones along with amazing industrial design,” he said.
The announcement of the first Nokia smartphones can take place at the MWC 2017, which will take place in Barcelona from 27 February to 2 March.
