Japanese automaker Nissan will make electric cars to sing
The automaker notes that at a speed over 20 miles per hour Canto (“I sing” in Latin) begins to emit a melodious sound designed to warn pedestrians of the approaching vehicle.
The tone and pitch of the sound change as you increase speed. The electric motor is virtually silent, which could create a hazard to other road users. With the help Canto Nissan engineers hope to solve the issue.
