Paramount refused to release another of his promising project. According to the publication The Wrap from rolling network seized the horror movie “Friday the 13th”, which the Studio planned to restart a popular franchise.
The reason for the cancellation of rental and a possible new release date of the film is not specified. Previously it was assumed that the new version of the classic film will be presented to the audience on October 13, 2017. Note that the premiere of “Friday the 13th” was repeatedly postponed, originally, Paramount planned to release the film in may 2016.
This is the second major Studio project which suffered such a fate in 2017. In early February it became known that Paramount refused to hire zombie drama “world War Z 2”, announced in the summer. In this case the reasons are also not specified.
Recall also that in 2016, The CW rejected the idea to introduce a new take on a classic in the genre of horror TV format.
