Historical drama streaming service Netflix “Crown” added in the second season of two key players. According to the publication The Hollywood Reporter, Michael C. Hall and Jodi Balfour approved on the role of U.S. President John Kennedy and his wife Jackie Kennedy respectively.
At the time of this writing, proceedings of the second season of the drama by Peter Morgan, in which the action takes place in the 1960-ies, after the armed forces of Her Majesty the Queen took part in the military coup in Egypt.
Hall (“Dexter”) and Balfour (“Mercenary Quarry”) has joined the cast of the second season, which also included Matthew Goode (“Downton Abbey”) as Anthony Armstong Jones, better known as the Earl of Snowdon. Filmmaker and photographer married Princess Margaret (Vanessa Kirby) from 1960 to 1978. The couple divorced after eighteen years of marriage. Snowdon died in January 2017 at the age of 86 years.
“Crown” has won two awards “Golden globe 2017” in the category “best drama series and best actress in a drama series” for Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth. The creators of the drama expect every season to highlight each decade of the reign of the Queen of great Britain until the present day.
